To be eligible for enrolment in the Helifuel System Refuelling course, you must abide by the OPITO Helicopter Refuelling Training Standard Learner Pre-requisites;
A.2 Learner pre-requisites for the Helideck Refuelling Training standard
The prerequisites for the Helicopter Refuelling Training are one of the following:
a) An OPITO or equivalent Helideck Operations Initial Training (HOIT) Certificate (achieved within the past two years)
b) A valid OPITO or equivalent HDA or HLO Workplace Competence Assessment Certificate
c) A valid OPITO or equivalent Helideck Emergency Response Team Member Training (HERTM) or Further HERTM Certificate
d) A valid OPITO or equivalent Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader (HERTL) or Further HERTL Training Certificate
OR
An valid industry recognised certificate or qualification which ensures and understanding of offshore Helideck Operations.
A.3 Physical and Stressful Demands of the Helicopter Refuelling Training
Training activities contained within this standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully.
Therefore, OPITO or equivalent compliant training centres are required, as a minimum, to ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises the learner is declared fit, in that they:
a) Possess an employing company approved medical certificate equivalent to an offshore medical certificate.

2. Offshore Helifuel Systems -Transportable TanksOffshore refueling systems may either be fitted with transportable or static fuel storage tanks. This module describes TRANSPORTABLE storage tanks. 2 sections

3. Offshore Helifuel Systems - Static Storage TanksStatic storage tanks are not the most commonly used but specific variations to this system are discussed in this module. 2 sections

4. Fuel Delivery and Dispensing SystemsThere is little differentiation between fuel delivery and dispensing systems for transportable and static storage tanks. The general design and requirements for both are discussed in this module. 3 sections

5. Helicopter Refuelling ProceduresHeli refuelling is a high risk operation. Clean, uncontaminated fuel must be delivered to the helicopter following strict safety protocols, as described in this module. 9 sections

6. Typical Aircraft TypesIt is essential that refuelling crew members familiarise themselves with any aircraft used on their helideck. This module details the 4 most commonly used offshore helicopters. 5 sections
