This HERTM course, in addition to the HOIT course, forms the prerequisites to qualify for Helideck Assistant (HDA).
The aim and objectives of HERTM training is to equip the candidate with the initial knowledge, understanding and skills required to perform the roles of offshore Helideck Assistant (HDA) safely and effectively.

Any person appointed or interested in being appointed to the role of HDA.

What does the course cover?
This online course, which is OPITO equivalent, provides the prospective HDA with a comprehensive and in-depth insight into the legal and practical intricacies of helideck offshore operations with emphasis on helideck hazards and management systems as well as the HLO and HDA responsibilities during helicopter landing and departure on both attended and unattended installations.

COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS FOR FINAL CERTIFICATE
This course requires 100% pass rate for each quiz at the end of each module.
After each quiz, check your score to ensure all answers are correct. If not, click the "previous" tab to revert back to the beginning of the module. Go through the module again and then take the quiz again. Once you have correctly answered all the questions, click the "continue" tab to move to the next module.
The final certificate will only be generated if 100% pass rate has been achieved for each module.

2. NUI EMERGENCY RESPONSEThis module covers pre-planning for emergencies, communication protocols, and the use of automated systems. Delegates will also gain practical skills in supporting rescue and firefighting operations in these remote environments. 9 sections

3. HELIDECK EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM MEMBER (HERTM)This module focuses on the practical application of skills required for managing helideck and helicopter emergencies. The module emphasises teamwork, communication, and executing emergency response tasks under the direction of the HERTL. By the end of this module, participants will be confident in their ability to respond effectively to fires, helicopter incidents, medical emergencies, and evacuations on offshore helidecks. 13 sections
